Super Lawyers is a legal rating service that highlights attorneys who show strong professional standards and results. The selection process starts with peer nominations from other attorneys. Then, a team of researchers reviews each nominee based on 12 factors, which include verdicts, experience, honors, and community work. After that, a panel of top-rated lawyers does a final review.
Only 5 percent of lawyers in each state earn a spot on the Super Lawyers list. The Rising Stars list uses the same steps but applies only to attorneys who have fewer than 10 years of practice or are under age 40. Just 2.5 percent of lawyers meet the Rising Stars standard.
