Abby Jo Panek is an associate attorney at Silverman, Tokarsky & Forman L.L.C. She helps clients facing difficult legal issues in areas like family law, criminal defense, and nonprofit management. She is dedicated to guiding clients through some of life’s toughest challenges with a compassionate, realistic, and solution-focused approach.
Abby graduated from Westmont Hilltop High School in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, in 2014. Abby earned her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the Cook Honors College at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2018. She graduated summa cum laude and was an active member of Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society.
Abby earned her Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law in 2021. She attended Duquesne on a full-tuition scholarship. During law school, Abby worked for the Allegheny Public Defender’s Office and participated in the Expungement Clinic.
Abby has been admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania since 2022. She worked as a law clerk in Indiana County for two years before joining Silverman, Tokarsky & Forman L.L.C.

Abby has received several awards in both her academic and legal careers. In 2017, Abby presented her Howard Z. Fitzgerald Essay, “Universalism and the Meaning of Equality” at the American Philosophical Association Western Conference in San Diego, California, where she was honored as a student presenter.

Born and raised in Johnstown, Abby is passionate about serving her community. She coordinates local Mock Trial Teams to help students learn about law and hone their courtroom skills. Abby also serves on the Board of Directors for the Cambria County Library. Additionally, she represents local young attorneys as a county and state representative for the Young Lawyer’s Division.
In her free time, she likes attending concerts, traveling, and going to hockey games (Go Pens!) with her husband and friends. She also enjoys spending time with her cats: Shrimp, Scampi, and Oscar.
